Assembly process analysis is one of key techniques of virtual assembly. In this thesis, a system planning of Assembly process analysis supporting sub-system in Virtual Assembly system is proposed which is based on analyzing the characteristic of aircraft wing assembly and assembly process design. The core techniques, such as assembly information integration, tool and clamp analyses, assembly frame analyses etc, and the core arithmetic, such as spatial searching, interference check etc, of assembly process analysis sub-system are investigated in detail. Main research work and achievements are as follows: Researches and analyzes aircraft assembly process design task, such as assembly methods, assembly benchmark and assembly frame etc. Summarizes the characteristics and workflow of wing assembly process design. Proposes a system plan for assembly process analysis supporting sub-system in virtual assembly system. Analyses the core techniques, such as tool and clamp analyses, assembly frame analyses etc. Analyzes assembly modeling techniques, summarizes the information requirements towards product model by assembly process analysis system, and presents a XML-based assembly information integration model. Describes the assembly information of aircraft wing using Object-Oriented method, and establishes a uniform wing assembly hierarchical tree structure. Completes the planning of function modules, such as tool and clamp analyses, assembly frame analyses etc. Presents the spatial researching tree structure based spatial researching method. Solves the path researching problem. With the requirements of precision and efficiency of assembly process analysis sub-system, a disassembly based dynamic interference check method is adopted to solveinterference. Researches and summarizes the process of CAA V5 RADE based programming. Explains the way to realize the prototype system. A certain kind of aircraft wing model is used to test the prototype system. And the results show that the system is correct and efficient.
