Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) is an important device to improve the active safety of vehicle. Today with the improvement of the vehicle speed, ABS is applied widely and widely. The ABS control solution is the core of the ABS technology. It is important to master the design and the control parameter calibration method of the control solution in the aspect of developing our own ABS and doing further research in the theory and technology of the vehicle active safety. This paper makes some systemic and deep researches on ABS under the support of ShanXi provincial science and technology developing project, i.e., the development of ABS controller with self-intellectual right and give an ABS control strategy based on self- optimalizing. The main research contents include: 1.0n the basis of elaborating the principle of ABS, the main ABS control methods used in international and national fields have been made deep and particular discussion and comparison. The advantage and disadvantage have been pointed out. Four-phase control method has been introduced particularly and three basic principle expressions are proved.2.According to the principle of successive comprehension and successive measurement of self-optimalizing control theories, the method of step-searching and step-detection has been applied in ABS. Self-optimalizing strategy on the control of ABS is presented in this paper.3.Two-freedom single wheel, three-freedom double wheel and seven-freedom four wheel vehicle model based on the methods of four-phase and self-optimalizing control have been given respectively. Detailed contrastive simulation tests of four-phase and self-optimalizing ABS control have been made and applying effects of self-optimalizing control are discussed , which establish stable principle foundation for self-optimalizing control applying to realistic ABS controller.From the simulation results we can find that: automobiles which installself-optimalizing ABS apparatus lock on the any road surface only when the vehicle body velocity and wheel velocity arrive at zero approximately ,which is better for improving driving stability under braking. It shows anti-lock ability of self-optimalizing ;slip ratio approximates and surround the desired slip ,which shows that this ABS system uses fully road surface performance and retains large adhesion and braking performance is good ; Braking force regulates with varies of road condition, which realizes road self-identification.In a word, the research results show the feasibility of self-optimalizing control strategy , self-optimalizing ABS system is a simple convenient system with better driving stability braking and better adaptability at same time. It has not only theoretical significance but realistic value. We will make further research.
