Container trucks wireless dispatching system (CTWDS) in yard is of vital importance in the future modern port. The system can link the information of container crane with container trucks. The computer system will process and optimize the data, automatically dispatch, and send the task command to container trucks by VHP (Very High Frequency) radiophone. Through that way we can optimize the route of container trucks, minimize the phenomena that cranes waiting for trucks or trucks driving away empty. As a result we can largely improve the efficiency of container transporting which is both a challenge for traditional load and unload ships process and a big progress in modernization at port.Firstly the paper introduces the engineer application state and prospect of CTWDS world widely. Then the paper describes the main structure of CTWDS at length, discussing the hardware and software separately, as well as measures of anti-jamming. In the design of communication controller, we select W77E58 of Winbound company as the core chip which has one more serial port than traditional one and improves performance by an average of 2.5 times. The paper also describes the interface of Modem AM7910 in details.Visual Basic 6.0 is used as development language for data gathering, serial port drive and menu in programming container trucks dispatching management system .Advance language, Keil C51 is used for developing microcontroller which has high compiling effectiveness and abundance library functions, is also easily transplanted. Develop period is largely shorted by use of C which has the convenience to control hardware just as good as compile language.Task table of container trucks is put in ORACAL 9i database. We are able to look over, append and mend the task table through the connection built with ODBC data source management and ADODC Active control. Finally the paper gives the resolvents for some problems encountered in field appliance such as unreasonable and un-logical load and unload process. In conclusion and expectation chapter, wecompare VHP with other wireless communication ways, and analysis the capacity of CTWDS. At last we draw the conclusion that CTWDS has a very bight future in port market.
