SBS polymer modified asphalt has been tendency of developing modified asphalt in our country for its excellent pavement performance.But it is very important to solve the problem of hot storage stability of SBS polymer modified asphalt if we want to realize its industrialized production and apply it widely in highway constrction.On the backgrounds of researches inside and outside country,analyzing highway construction and some disadvantages of the hot storage stability test of SBS polymer modified asphalt in the current specification,a new hot storage stability test-separation test in canister is developed. Through separation test in canister of different kinds and content of SBS polymer modified asphalt in different storage time,analyzing the results of normal tests, Dynamic Shear Rheometer(DSR) tests, Gel Permeation Chromatography(GPC) tests , Fluorescene optical microscopy tests of upper and bottom sample,the results show that this test is a more reasonable and effective evaluation method,and A new index-Rz+1(ratio of separation) is firstly brought forward to evaluate SBS polymer modified asphalt's hot storage stability.Through studying influence factors of SBS polymer modified asphalt's hot storage stability and influence of compatilizer and stabilizer's content on SBS polymer modified asphalt's hot storage stability and pavement performance, SBS polymer chemically modified asphalt whose hot storage stability is excellent is prepared succeessfully.Influence of stabilizer's adding method and blending time on SBS polymer modified asphalt's hot storage stability and pavement performance is also studied.
