As the development of the social economy and the improvement of the living standard, the Heating Power Pipe Network (HPPN) is widely used in city life and industry. During the operating of HPPN, operating failures caused by erosion, environment effects, pipe network quality, etc. are sometimes occurred randomly and unpredictably. It has bad effect on the management of HPPN operating and maintenance, and would further interfere with running economy and security of HPPN. The research and development of heating pipe network operating failure real-time diagnosis system have practical significance for HPPN with economic and safe operation, systematic auto-control and administration level improvement and so on.Firstly, the researches on pipe network designing and operating simulation, system optimization, pipe network monitor, heating pipe net and other kinds of fluid pipe network operating failure diagnosis in the world were summarized in this work. The existing problems and shortages of current studies were put forward and analyzed.Based on the front works of other researchers and the theories of heating pipe network model designing and dynamic simulation, real-time and dynamic running simulation for multi-user complex Heating Power Pipe Network System (HPPNS) of aerial pipeline was achieved.On the basis of the establishment of the heating pipe network visual simulation system and all sorts of typical failures from the experience of engineering practices, the operating failure simulator system for HPPNS was accomplished. The expert KBS of heating pipe network failure diagnosis system was established via the results of failure simulating experiments.The failure diagnosis expert system for HPPNS was finished through studying diagnostic algorithms of different kinds of failures. The technology of backdating and comparing was adopted in the failure diagnosis system to eliminate nonsystematic errors and reduce the effect of diagnostic precision from pseudo-data. And the technology of B+ tree ransacking and B+ tree backward searching algorithms were combined in the system. The diagnostic precision and scientificity of the failure diagnosis system was validated by lots of pipe network models. The constructional suggestions for measurement spots allocation in HPPN's operating were put forward in this work.Through the comparison of three different modes of the pipe networks, the features and advantages of heating pipe network in underground pipeline way were analyzed. The researches on underground pipeline heating pipe network in the world were summarized. Furthermore, thesimulation of underground pipeline designing and operating for HPPNS was also accomplished based on discrete methods by the requirements of engineering design.
