This thesis studies the way to solve the antinomy between high temperature stability and low temperature anti-cracking of Yu Jing desert express highway.On the analysis backgrounds of Superpave, :his thesis accomplishes the mix design by using Superpave asphalt mixture design methods and carries out the improvement study of Superpave mixture pavement performance by means of adding fibre and modifying asphalt by SBS. In this paper, the difference between Superpave and Marshall design methods are analyzed thoroughly, and the performance of recommended Superpave mixture and AC mixture are compared, especially, in the low temperature performance aspect which is studied by the thermal stress restrained specimen test. Then the test road section is paved by using optimal Superpave gradation recommended in indoor research. Based on the test-road construction, this thesis introduces the construction technology of Superpave asphalt mixture and observes the performance of test-road.Through lab and site tests it is shown that Superpave design methods can effectively improve performance of bituminous pavement desert area.
