General condition of Superpave mix design, study at home and abroad are analyzed and concluded in this dissertation. The asphalt mixture is detailedly studied according to its design defects in China..The study points out that Superpave mixture doesn't need strictly follow the restricted zone. The mixture above or bellow restricted zone only has one aspect good pavement performance with all the other aspects bad performances. The mixture through the middle of restricted zone has synthetic optimal pavement performances.On the basis of the single factor dry rodded test of coarse aggregate, the optimal framework structure of gabbro Sup-16 gradation is given out. The author respectively adopted Marshall and SGC to design the optimal asphalt content, meanwhile conducted pavement performance tests. In the present condition, the author recommended SGC to design asphalt mixture in the hot region; Marshall to design asphalt mixture in the cold region.Dust proportion has prominent effects on mixture pavement performance. The mixture has synthetic optimal pavement performances when dust proportion is in 1.07~1.45. Mixture pavement performance is also affected by asphalt, gradation and aggregate. Modified asphalt can greatly improve mixture's pavement performance.
