With the development of industrial control, microelectronics and computer technology, the data collecting and handling level in industrial control system have been greatly improved. In this article, the data acquisition and management system of the cycling water in heat power plant is detailed described, which is based on PLC control system. The system is constructed by SCADA(Supervisory control and data acquisition) and data management system, providing data collecting , transferring, monitoring, controlling and management. The article is made up of 6 chapters and sections and a brief description is given as follows:Chapter 1 presents the background and goals of this article and summarizes the development of the data acquisition and management system in late years.Chapter2 introduces the hardware selection and the logic design according to the requirements of the system.Chapter3 gives an introduction to Industry Control Network, makes comparison between two kinds of networks and determines which network is used in terms of actual needs for this application.Chapter4 presents how to construct a SCADA system in the heat power plant, where several technologies of data exchanging are used to implementing supervising, controlling, data sharing and exchanging.Chapter5 focuses on the implementing of the system database.Chapter6 gives a summary of the data acquisition and management system of the cycling water system in heat power plant.
