This thesis focuses on the application of distributed real-time simulation technology on aircraft simulation. The work presented here represents part of research work in the research project titled "aircraft simulation system"at UESTC. In the project, the distributed simulation, broadcast memory network technologies are used. The distributed aviation simulation system in this research is aimed to achieve a less middle scale integrated simulation system in a range of small area, by combining the modeling techniques of aircraft system, aviation simulation technology ,distributed technology and visual technology. An real-time distributed aircraft simulation system is built on broadcast memory. The test results identifies the advantages of broadcast memory structure in distributed simulation. The overall goal of designing an real-time distributed aircraft simulation system is to construct a hardware-in-loop, distributed, and real-time simulation system which is hierarchical, modular, and object-oriented. Considering the requirements of the project, the functions of the system are analyzed and categorized. Real-time networked broadcast memory technology and objected oriented method are selected to achieve the design. The thesis performs analysis of the different function module, based on view of both modeling and programming. An interface adapter is used to normalize the signal channel, hence making the system more independent, re-usable, reliable, portable and scalable. This thesis first analyzes the hierarchy and function of the system, and then describes of the implementation scheme of the whole system, which is divideed into several levels and modules. Then, considering the high importance of the broadcast memory in the system, the thesis elaborates the characteristics, technique specification and application of broadcast memory. The design and the implementation of hardware and software is followed. Finally the conclusion of the thesis and future work are presented.
