The calibration of temperature measurement instruments plays a very important part in its using process. In this paper, Automatic Calibration System of Temperature Measurement Instruments, ACS, is designed. ACS hardware is made up of Temperature Detector Calibrator, which is designed and manufactured in the research work of the paper, Fluke 9100S Heater and Yokogawa CA100 Compact CAL. All the ACS hardware can communicate with computer through RS-232 connection, so they can be controlled by computer program expediently. ACS software, which is designed with Microsoft Visual Basic 6.0, can control all the hardware, arrange process of calibration, do the work of data processing, export tables of calibration to printer, and write all the calibration results into Instrument Parameter Management database. ACS can well automatically make calibration of RTD (Resistance Temperature Detector), thermocouple, RTD transmitter and Thermocouple transmitter; and make united calibration of RTD and thermocouple with their transmitter. Computer do most of work that is originally done manually, so ACS can bring a good decline of human's work in the calibration of temperature measurement instrument and a high efficiency of calibration. ACS has been put into application; it runs reliably and satisfies the design specification completely.
