| During the past 10 more years, the high economic growth rates in China have brought on the fast growth for oil demand. As oil output could not keep pace with economic growth, china had to rely on oil import to make up the gap between supply and demand. Through year 2000 and 2003, annual crude oil imports all exceeded 80m tons in China. But presently, domestic oil fleet tonnage is rather small and ship ages tends to be too old .What is more, many old-age crude oil ships have extended services. Therefore China's tanker fleet can't at all undertake the mission of oil import shipment, and as a result, foreign tanker fleets mainly occupied the deep-sea transportation of China's oil imports. With such a background, this paper carries out the technical and economical discussion on ship style suitable for China's crude oil imports.The paper has analyzed the present situation of international and national crude oil market. The paper has taken FORCADOS -DA LIAN, MINA FAHAL-NING BO trading line as an example, had a deep study of the method of technology and economy demonstration of oil carriers. According to an analysis and comparison of different ship type plans, we can know which is the best .This method can provide certain theoretical basis for ship investment of China's shipping industry. The results also indicate that VLCC is appropriate for long distance sea borne crude oil transportation, and thus, China should make the best use of VLCC to ship importing crude oil henceforth.Finally, for the policy of oil safety, the paper gives some suggestions about fleet building and port condition. |
