The vibratory roller is one of the main construction machines. It is widely used in various base compactions. In the paper, the law of damping was studied when the structural parameters of vibratory roller changed the in the course of the rolling. Firstly, on the foundation of five -degree system model, the simple and new way was used to simulate the movement of vibrating roller. On the basis of analyzing the vibrating resources, complex structural parameters and damping aims, the damping model of vibrating roller was established. Secondly, the solution of damping model of vibrating roller was analyzed and the solution is divided steady part from transient part according to the power of sine wave. The progresses were simulated through the solution. According to simulations, the experiments were done. Lastly, the synthesis of the simulations and the experiments, the main factors affecting damping were detected. There are five main factors. These are what damping performance of isolator rubber for vibrating wheel roller is nonlinear, inherence frequency, damping performance of isolator rubber for the cab, tyre pressure and high frequency damping performance of seat. Some suggestions about the design of vibratory roller were provided.
