Shot peen forming is an important sheet metal forming process for aircraft industries. But after using CNC system, peen forming process parameters choosing in industry has been done still by trial and error or relied on a large number of pre-production tests. The process model presented in this paper properly simulates the progressive deformed plastic layer , using a notional temperature gradient to appropriate macroscopic deformation. Then modelling this FEA problem with software ABAQUS. This temperature graident can be repeatdly applied to simulate further intensities of peening coverage. Thus a complicated dynamic impact process can be approximated by a simple static loading process.Based on that, a nonlinear relationship between peening parameters specified for each discrete peening area and deflection at node points is set up.Then using a constrained optimization procedure to find an optimal solution subject to specific condition. This simulation sharply reduced computation expenses ,therefore can quickly estimate peen forming process's time and result, and find an optimal solution subject to specific conditions.Applying the above-mentioned methodology, Simulation of the shoot peen forming process was performed for panel with stiffeners in this paper.Proposed method is still applicable for workpiece with complex structural component.
