Equipment maintenance is a very important part of power system operation. With the capacity of power system increasing annually and the amount of devices becoming larger and larger, maintenance scheduling manually becomes more and more difficult. The scientific, rational and practical maintenance schedules arranged by computer are helpful to improve the stability of the power system operation and improve the modernization level and profit efficiency of the enterprises.This paper simply gives a general statement about the the study of maintenance scheduling at home and abroad, which include the study of maintenance scheduling model and the study of how to solve the model, and it introduces maintenance mode of distribution system's equipment and the flow of manual maintenance scheduling at home.According to the rules and considerations which are based and taken into account in the practical work, this paper proposes a new model for distribution maintenance scheduling which intends to find the most security and reliability maintenance schedule without violating and restrictions and also the paper makes a deep research of GA, SA.. The method of GA integrated with SA improved arithmetic's convergent attribute. The proposed model and method are applied to a practical system, and numerical results verify the correctness and validity of them.
