Located on north bank of Northern bay, south of Guangxi province, Fangcheng port is the most south-west good deepwater port in costal line of China. It has predominant port construction condition and kind natural condition. With the rapid development of region economy, the port embodies the more and more important status and effect for economy development. But, with the big-scale port development, the demand to navigation water depth is higher and higher, and the soil quality of construction is more complexity, which impacts the efficiency of production capacity of dredger and impacts the construction progress of dredging, and the construction speed of port is also blocked.According to the characteristics of 50,000 ton level entrance channel construction condition and the soil quality of dredging of Fangcheng port, reasonable dredger is selected and the production capacity of the dredger is determined by theoretical analysis. The cutter-suction dredger is selected according to different operation condition, and the production capacity of dredger is computed by use of different character theory (dredge pump, pipeline character and excavation character), which can fully embody the production capacity of the dredger and ensure the construction progress. As for the construction management, construction dredger is arranged flexibly according the change of construction condition, and the production capacity of the dredger is fully embodied by applying the construction character of the dredger to in-situ condition. Through summarizing these construction experiences, and together with the previous engineering management expertise and construction experience, suggestions on how to strengthen technical management have been presented in this dissertation, which are of significance to the construction management of future large-scale projects.
