Based on the theory of "Multi-body System Dynamics" , this paper uses software to setup a virtual prototype for a "Personal Defense Weapon" (PDW). The dynamic characters of this personal defense weapon were systematically investigated by means of the virtual prototype. The thesis also collates its dynamic characters date with the corresponding experimental data and verifies the credibility of the virtual prototype model. The thesis has four sections. First of all, it reviews the existing research works on this project both at home and abroad, including an introduction to the theory of "Multi-body System Dynamics" ; Secondly, it uses SolidWorks to setup a three-dimensional model and analyzes it to enforce restriction, movement and pressure on various parts of the personal defense weapon, which is followed by the formation and check of the systematic virtual prototype; Thirdly, it elaborates on experiments of the personal defense weapon including comprising its aim, content and a brief analysis of the experiment results; Finally, it Analyzes the virtual prototype with dynamic emulation, and afterwards with the parameters of automaton movement as the main indexes, it uses VV&A(Verification, Validation, Affirmance) theory, combined with experimental data, to check the virtual prototype model and verify its credibility.
