Seeker Computer Sub-components Of Automatic Test Systems

The computer components, also called data-processing boards, are the kernel parts of the missile seeker. Their capability impacts the holistic functions of the missile, so they need to be tested before we assemble the missile system. The previous tests were handled by hands, and the testing process was very sophisticated. On the comparison of all the leading ATS (automatic testing system) buses, we built a virtual testing platform based on PCI bus, and Lab VIEW software. With the help of the virtual testing platform, we could test all the parameters of the data-processing boards automatically.The open ATS structure was introduced when we built the testing system, which made the expansion and update possible. The software of the system adopted a modularized framework. It enhanced the utility ratio of the software codes, and enabled fast building of a testing system. It was also helpful to renew the system function. The testing system made great use of the powerful computing ability of the DSP chip on one data-processing board. The DSP pre-processed the test data, and then transmitted it to the testing system. It reduces the data to be transmitted, and provides the testing system fast speed and high precision. With the management of Microsoft Access database, we can store, browse, modify, and print the test data. The database also provides information for fault diagnosis of the data-processing boards. The application of the automatic testing system improved the testing level of the data-processing boards greatly.
