In recent years, the highway is developing rapidly, and so the management and maintenance job of the highway also needs to keep up with the development of the construction. At the same time, the quality control system of the highway roadbed and pavement is becoming more complicated, and the request for the measurement is also much stricter. And in our country, the pavement evaluation equipment of the highway management and maintenance department is severely insufficiency, and most of the time, the quality evaluation methods depended on manual method. This method has many disadvantages, such as inefficiency, tiring, slow speed of evaluation and big artificial error etc. And so this situation is highly out of keeping with the development of the highway. Therefore, the researches of the automatic evaluation system of the highway are showing much urgent.At first, according to the laser detection principle, this paper has conducted the research to the laser pavement smoothness as well as the wheel rut detection method; In this foundation, through the analysis of laser pavement detection vehicle technology integration research, this paper proposed essential technology and concrete design request of the vehicle reequips, and then carried on choosing proper vehicle model and overall layout designing for the detection vehicle, further more carried on the design and R & D to the related detection mechanism; Through the erroneous and data processing method research, this paper has analyzed in the erroneous origin and the influence of detection result caused by all kinds of factors, And conducts the suitable data processing method research to reduce the error thus to guarantee detection precision request; Finally this paper has carried on the detection the performance test to the laser sensor and the laser detection system as well as the contrast experiment between the laser road surface detection system and the level survey, the cross sectional dimensions surveys, The test result indicates that laser pavement detection system' s overall construction was reliable; The examination result of laser pavement detection system was completely conform to the level demarcate result and the cross sectional dimensions demarcates result. Besides, the error was small, the examination precision was high, the stability, the duplication were good, can satisfy the practical application' s requirement.
