Xinzhou - The Fuping Road Landscape Evaluation

Protecting environment and realizing sustainable development have become an immediate and difficult task. Nowadays, our country is under a period of economic development which is important to the strategic opportunity, and also a prime time of transportation development. So it is very important for the policy maker, designer, constructors of highway construction to make a common or referrible research results on sustainable development of the areas where highways pass in 21eth century in our country.People have already been aware that the road not only should has the transportation function, but also the esthetics function of road should be consider from many point of view, such as landscape, environment, etc. Road landscape would strongly affect the sight of the user, including the drivers, and directly influence the riding comfort and safety. So, road landscape evaluation has become a new subject, to establish road landscape indicator set has very important theories value and practical meant.This paper elaborates firstly the concept and characteristics and component of the road landscape with which be the theories foundation of the evaluation of road landscape. Immediately, illustrating difficulties, directions, and supportive theories of establishing road landscape indicator set, with the foundation of the theories of three aspects of landscaping, making sure the environment, function and esthetics of the road are the main contents of the evaluation of road landscape from visual landscaping, environmental ecological virescence and popular behavioral psychology, and selecting indicator, establishing indicator set. Finally, summarized and analyzed the method of which be used in the evaluation of road landscape, making sure adopting the method of Fuzzy comprehensive evaluation based on the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) to evaluating the road landscape, elaborating the step of that method, and that method be used in evaluation of highway landscape that from Xinzhou to Fuping in Shanxi, which is regarded as an example analysis.
