Objective To explore the oxidizing damage and genetoxicity influence of organic extracts from source water and running water in Baotou's section of Yellow River to mice's liver and kidney. To roughly assess the safety of the two kinds water above. Method Each 200L of water was collected separately from the source water and running water in Baotou's branch of Yellow River. XAD-II resin was used to absorb the organic chemical pollutations in source water and running water. Adopt the experimental method for subnormal temperature animals, to contaminate mice with different density of organic extract solutions of Yellow River water and running water, and test the activation of superoxide dismutase (SOD) and Glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px), the content of malondialdehyde (MDA) and the rate of miconucleus in mice's body. Results 1. General itmes: The mice did not appear death response. The liver's coefficient in 10th group of mice was 0. 0947±0. 0098, the contruct group's was 0. 0466±0. 0054. It increased significantly compare with contract and other groups (P<0.01). 2. SOD and GSH-Px activation in mice's liver and kidney in the three sections of Yelllow River in Baotou city, while compared with other groups has different degrees of changes. Except the low density group of running water, the MDA content in mice's liver and kidney and micronucleus rate increased significantly compared with controls of the negative groups (P<0. 05). 3. MDA content and micronucleus rate in the middle stream of Yellow River in Baotou city are the highest. MDA content in mice liver and kidney of the highest exposed groups were 7.12 ±2. 05, 5.13 ±1. 50 nmol/mg. pro; MDA content in mice liver and kidney of control group were 1.93±0.34,1.52 ±0.38 nmol/mg. pro, Comparing with control group, there are statistically significant (P<0. 01) ; The rate micronucleus in mice of the highest exposed group in middle stream of Yellow River were 33. 70‰; the negative control group were 3. 20‰, the positive control group were 46. 60‰, Comparing with control group , there are statistically significant (P<0. 01) . Conclusion 1. Organic extracts from running water and source water in Yellow River really have oxidizing damage and...
