This paper presents simply the current research situation and the development of the domestic and overseas about Automatic Grenade Launcher(AGL). And introduces the structure and operational principle of QLZ87AGL made in china which has been armed by our army. Based on the classical interior ballistics and weapon gas dynamics theory, a mathematics model of the interior ballistics and gas system is established. A mathematics model of 2-degree firing system of the AGL is also set up, applying the automatic weapon system dynamics. In this paper, a simulation and compute program of the AGL is developed, which can calculated the movement of structure member. Some key parameters are studied deeply. Meanwhile, on the basis of the multi-rigid body system dynamics, this paper establishes the virtual prototype of the AGL by software ADAMS. And computes the movement laws of the bolt body and gun body of the AGL, illuminates change reason, which are compared with the results of before-mentioned the simulating and computing program. A large of results and the analysis which some key parameters affect weapon's function provide the beneficial reference and guidance theoretically for further improvement and design of weapon from now on.
