In the paper based on the existing hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) simulation system of aircraft breaking, the aircraft breaking visual simulation system (ABVSS) is designed and developed through using computer graphics technology, DirectSound technology, serial communication technology and multithread technology. The ABVSS changes the actuality which displays the simulation results using the curve and data, and offers the real time dynamic data for researching the rule of aircraft breaking process.Firstly, this thesis analyses the current HIL simulation actuality of aircraft breaking, and shows the develop history and the current research results of visual simulation; Secondly, OpenGL technology, multithread technology and serial communication technology as the basic technology of ABVSS is introduced; Lastly, the function and modeling request about each part of the HIL simulation system of aircraft breaking including visual simulation system, the basic configuration of develop environment, the composing and the basic class graphic of the whole simulation software is expatiated.ABVSS includes three parts: entity modeling, virtual scene and data commutations. The entity models which is loaded through MFC programming is designed using the professional three-dimensional modeling software - 3DS MAX. Virtual scene developed by OpenGL technology which contains building of the geography simulation, the management of angles of view and the climate simulation, is the main body of the ABVSS. The geography simulation includes sky, ground and the run way; Eight angels of view and two kind of operating modes which are the keyboard operating mode and the manual mode are offered; The climate simulation which can simulate rain and snow is developed by the particle system technology. Data commutations receives the simulation data which makes the aircraft model move through the serial port. To improve the efficiency of ABVSS, a worker thread is created to monitor the serial port through using multithread serial port programming technology.The viewer can look into, analyze and evaluate the whole simulation course again and again using the scene record function and the scene playback function offered by ABVSS; The sound effect which is completed using DirectSound technology increases the facility of simulation; To improve the utility, many child windows which can configure the simulation information about the controlling of the simulation course are designed.At the end of this thesis, the research and design of ABVSS is summarized. The simulation result of ABVSS shows that ABVSS is right and can show the whole breaking course basically and the rules of the parameters.
