In recent years, along with the progress of science and semiconductor technology, embedded system technology has obtained the rapid development. Because of these technologies , the automobile industry also gain great progress, the automobile performance are enormously improved, which enables the consumers'dream of getting the same experience when they are in own automobile with the portable equipment as they get when they are listening to the family entertaining equipment come true.At the same time, the compressed audio file format, especially the MP3 is becoming extremely popular on the internet. Its popularity is not only limited to family and portable entertaining equipment market but also rapidly entering the automotive industry. It is a great idea to combine the Audio compression, the Internet, the auto industry together, so now we have a perfect combination of the three factors: Vehicle Broadcasting System (vehicle MP3 Player).As for the reasons of vehicle entertaining ,audio compression and functional expansion, this dissertation puts forward a new 32-bits ARM7 processor based broadcasting system scheme which can play the MP3, WMA, AAC music files and other compression formats music files in this very convenient vehicle MP3 player. Users can download several kind of music file (such as MP3, WMA, MIDI, AAC format) to SD card through USB interface in this system. Then through the decoder, the digital-analog conversion, and signal amplification, the audio signal is transmitted from a wireless audio transmission chip. Therefore, the on-line digital music file can be played in an automobile music player, which achieves interconnection between the online music and the automobile. The main contents of the dissertation are as follows:1. Generally described the embedded system structure, characteristic, and its development tendency, also introduced the automobile embedded system development history;2. Given an outline of the development history of vehicle broadcasting system, analyzed its working principle, and explained the reason of vehicle MP3 Player's popularity;3. After the full analysis of the advantages and disadvantages of existing vehicle music player, put forward an ARM-based embedded vehicle broadcasting system design scheme, which realized the integrative,capacity-increased,exquisite and multifunctional trend of vehicle broadcasting system;4. Based on the design scheme that I proposed, realized its hardware platform, and especially described the circuit of all the important modules on the platform, which consists of six main modules, they are controlling module, memory module, decoding module, radio module, transmission module, and displaying module;5. Introduced the idea and flowchart of some important functional module's application, including the broadcasting function, USB downloading function, displaying function, FM function and so on;6. Completed the hardware and the software debugging, and tested the performance of the system.This dissertation proposed a design that can add some new entertaining function to a car without modifying its interior arrangement and shortening its life span.It is feasible in theory, and also conforms to the needs of market development. Moreover, due to the use of high-performance ARM processor, the system can facilitate functional expansion. The design shows a certain degree of development prospects.
