Windows Ce-based Car Navigation Systems, Research And Development

With the development of cities and roads, more and more people incline to get lost in the complicated traffic network. Popularization of cars bring people convenience at some extent, however, hundreds and thousands of cars also lead to serious traffic trouble. Applying car navigation system can provide people a suitable path to desitination and release traffic stress. In our country, we start to research on car navigation system later than others, and related technology is limited. With the development of car industry, the market of car navigation system will become more and more huge. So, it is a worthy thing to study and develop car navigation system.This thesis make a specific discuss on developing hardware and software of car navigation system. Combined with advanced GPS technology and based on Samsung S3C2440 ARM9 processor, developing a hardware with wireless communication of GPRS. On the basis of this platform, porting Windows CE embedded operation system containing boot loader, OAL layer and device drivers. Relization of car navigation software is the key in this system. Fist, this thsis provide a solution of software, then develop it's functional module like map displaying, GPS-satellite status drawing, car positioning, map mathing, navigation and place finding. At last, providing a theme of traffic message distribution since our country has not had this service.With a lot of experimentation, it prove that this car navigation system can provide high precision on positioning, path planning and voice nitification. So, this system will have bright future.
