Design, Mechanical Product Innovation Based On Axiomatic Design Theory

The design theory can provide theoretic basis for the design activities and guidesdesigners to design. Axiomatic design (AD) is one of the design theories, and its basisis independent function and information function. This theory can lead designers to doright decision-making. AD theory can reduce the developing time and improve thework efficiency and the performance of the product, so it can tone up the competitionof enterprise and product in market.This paper discusses the AD theory and brings forward the frame model ofmechanical innovation, then interprets every step of it. During the process of design,if the design doesn't fulfill the independence function, contradictions are identifiedthrough analyzing the interactions between function requirements and designparameters. If there are many schemes, which are all meet the independent theory,about some product, we should choose the one which has the least infonnation.The thesis introduces the development of the software for Axiomatic Design. Thehierarchy, interface, operation and flow chart of software can be built by analyzing thesoftware with Axiomatic-object oriented method. Then the model of the software istranslated into the notion of object oriented and programmed with VC++6.0. Thissoftware can aid designers to make correct decision by building the decision-makingenvironment. And it also can judge the independency and consistency of thedecomposition automatically.Autolnobile parking structure of some company always produces great impact andlarge yawp. This paper brings forward mechanical innovation product frame modelbased on axiomatic design, and uses it in parking structure design. By mapping anddecomposition between design tasks and parameters of parking structure, a newproduct satisfied customers is obtained, which resolves the inherent objections.
