Rolling Linear Guide (RLG) is a new kind of rolling functional unit. Because of itsmany advantages, Rolling Linear Guide has been widely used in industrial production.Friction is an important performance indicators of RLG, so it has a great significance tomeasure the friction of RLG.. Combining with the engineering project "The Design andDevelopment of the dynamic friction force measuring and running-in system for RLG inShanxi HanJiang Tools Company", a friction force measuring system for RLG which canalso be able to run RLG with high speed was researched and manufactured, so that thesystem can suit for the requests of product quality inspection, control and management infactories.After consideration, we determine the system design program, choose Indirectcomparison as the measuring principle, and choose the system components in reasonable.The position-control mode of AC servo motor is applied in the control system of theprincipal axis and a motion controller is chosen as the controller of the servo system. Apanel control system which adopts a microcontroller core was used in the system, andcomplete with communications between control panel and Industrial Computer by serialcommunication which is based on RS232 protocol, achieve the both-way control of Servomotor. Data acquisition system is based on the PCI bus multifunction data acquisition card.Considering the measuring system working in the industrial scene where there are variousof strong electromagnetic interference, we take the combination of software and hardwareof a variety of anti-jamming measures to improve the reliability of the system.The software of measuring and control system is developed by using Visual Basic,which makes the measuring process completed automatically and intelligently.Analysis module can analyze the measured data by conventional statistical analysis andspectrum analysis.At present the system is in the trial operation and it runs well. All the parameters aremet design targets. The system meets the requirements of measuring the dynamic frictionforce of RLG and running-in performance very well.
