Switched Reluctance Motor (SRM) and its control is a pop issue of electrical drive domains nowadays.Using TMS320LF2407 (DSP for motor control ,made in TI CO.) as the controller, The paper designed a 1.5kw Switched Reluctance Drive (SRD) system with large speed adjusting range, and did some theoretic research as well as experimental analysis.Firstly, the paper summarizes the history of SRM and analyzed the specialities of SRD compared by other drive systems. The applications and further developments of SRD are also discussed.Secondly, the paper discussed the running theories and analyzed various control strategies of SRD.Thirdly, the paper discussed the mathematic model of SRM. Based on the quasi-linear model of the 12/8 SRM, a SRD with large speed adjusting range is studied by Matlab/Simulink in the paper.Fourthly, the paper designed the hardware and programmed the software of a 1.5kw SRD, in order to achieve its rating running and large range of speed adjusting.Finally, the experimental results of the 1.5kw SRD are analyzed and the further improvements of the whole system proposed.The achievements of the 1.5kw SRD shows the correctness and practicability of the proposed control strategy.
