The development and application of modern communication and computer technology offer technical support for realizing power marketing automation. Electric energy measuring automatization is one of the most important parts for realizing power marketing automation. ARMS can automatically read, account and manage the customers' electric energy measuring data. In the meanwhile, it can monitor and analyze the using condition of customers. All these work can apply accurate basic data for power marketing automation.This article discusses the application scope and condition of three automatic meter reading methods. According to the communication condition suitable for various distribution transformers, different data collecting methods of electric measuring meter will be applied. And therefore, centralized management and control of customers' meters in wide area can be realized.By using optical fiber, radio carrier and GPRS communication modules, automatic meter reading termination sends the data, which is collected in wide area, to their respective remote management systems. The central management software acquires data from the data bank of each system. After screening, these data are transmitted to a united data bank for centralized management. The power marketing automation uses these data as basic information.It is possible and effective for distribution network to realize centralized data collection of electric energy meters by using different communication methods. It represents the new developing and application trend of automatic meter measurement. Offering real-time monitoring data for power distribution network, supplying accurate and quick information for marketing analysis of power supply enterprises will be widely used in the field of power marketing automation construction. It will also be applied in cost accounting of large power using customers.
