Pilot Study On Three Non-metallic Materials Inspection Covers

This paper makes some analysis and experimental research on nonmetal manhole cover by choosing material,the material optimization,the mechanics of material,the structural optimization of manhole cover,the moulding techniques of manhole cover,the mechanics of manhole cover product and so on,emphasising on manhole covers'carrying capacity. The three kinds of manhole covers we research contain FRP(Fiber Reinforced Plastisic) manhole cover,FRIM(Fiber Reinforced Inoranic Magnesium) manhole cover and the combination of FRP and FRIM manhole cover. These manhole covers all can carry 360kN. We found the three kinds of manhole covers have good dilapidation security that they have high carrying capacity by analyzing the process and the state of the manhole covers'breakage though the manhole covers are broken. The characteristic of FRP manhole cover have high carrying capacity,beautiful appearance,certain temperature of resistant distortion,abrading surface,speediness of production,the FRP manhole cover will make a brilliant figure in our cities. The characteristic of FRIM manhole cover have high carrying capacity,high temperature of resistant distortion(≥300℃),good performance of aging and water resistance(water resistance is ahove 0.87),cheap , the FRIM manhole cover is a kind of economical manhole cover. The combination of FRP and FRIM manhole cover not only has the merit of FRP manhole cover ,but also has the FRIM manhole cover's,it is a kind of economical and beautiful manhole cover. These manhole cover all can be produced in factory,then the performance of manhole cover will be stable,the carrying capacity will be high.
