The manhole cover is the cover plate which is on the inspection well leading to the basic facilities under municipal road of city.The honeycomb structure is a structure of comb. From gathering honey, people have noticed the form of comb sine 3000BC age. But the structure is unique, until 1980', it was applied really to manufacture the honeycomb board material. Thenceforward, honeycomb figure and structure were mentioned in lots of fields.The honeycombed manhole cover (HMC) is imitative of the characteristic of the honeycomb structure producing the manhole cover. HMC can increase the stiff of cover and diminish the maximum stress in a certain region of cover structure, and aims at reducing material consumption of production.This paper, under the circumstance using the software ANSYS as the simulation and optimum platform, under the background consulting the new composite material caisson cover developed and produced by a cooperation, and after analyzing, comparing and studying those results form which a serial of varied structure covers are simulated and calculated according the mechanics properties, gives emphasis to research HMC.Through analyzing the composing about the parts of HMC and researching functions, HMC are sorted two families including six type forms.First, the simulative results, which have been simulated the degeneracy of family B HMC or the non-highness lib and non-platform round plates, are analyzed to examine the mechanics properties of simulative HMC whether are reasonable. It proves that simulative program has been normal work. Second, carrying on theory of applied elasticity------bending of thin plates, the computing formulation is educed that calculates the formulation of a simple supported end circular plate subjected to a uniform central load. Taking two materials covers as the examples, with aiding of the software MATLAB, the mechanics datum on the structure at the sorts of thickness of HMC are calculated. Both the simulative datum and theoretical calculative datum are contrasted by each other. In a degree, the accuracy of simulative calculation is evaluated, once more, to demonstrate that program can accurate run according numerical value. Analyzed the results, it shows that the optimum structure HMC is attained. Subsequently, within the new mechanical confines which attain from the simulating practical application caisson cover, covers included the practical application caisson cover are optimized. The optimized results show that the HMC is the most excellent structure cover.
