Most of the boilers generate electricity by burning pulverized coal in the thermal power plant. The adjustment of the secondary air is an important key during boiler burning process. The stand or fall of combustion process decides the efficiency & reliability of boilers operation directly. Now most of the domestic thermal power plants are using ordinary flap valve to adjust the secondary air, but the flow adjusting characteristic of flap valves is fast opening characteristic and the flow filed efflux from flap valve is uneven has influenced the fully burning of pulverized coal.For the shortcomings of flap valve, this thesis designed a new type of secondary air control valve. First, by using numerical simulation method to build the model building for the main structure of flap valve and the new secondary air control valve, and by comparing the results, the new secondary air control valve is reasonable in the structure. Then do the structure design for the secondary air control valve using SolidWorks and do some necessary analysis. Finally, putting up a test-bed structure in laboratory, and through experiment, the new type of secondary air control valve is superior to the flap valve in both the flow adjusting characteristics of flap valves and the non-uniform of the flow filed distribution, and the experimental results show that the new type of secondary air control valve can be used for adjusting secondary air.For different thermal power plant have different secondary air duct, finally, it is necessary to design many secondary air control valves with different size for different thermal power plant, so this thesis have built a characteristic parts library based on the secondary development of SolidWorks, and achieved rapid design.
