The components such as solvent , resin and promoter of several enameled wire paints based on polyester and polyesterimide were investigated by the determination of gas chromatography- mass spectrum (GC-MS), infrared spectroscopy and atomic emission Spectrometry. The relationship effect of component on the property of paints was discussed in this paper.The solvent was separated from enameled wire paint by vacuum distillation and analyzed by GC-MS. It's showed that PET-01 was composed of phenol, 3-methyl phenol, 1,3-dimethylbenzene and 1,2-dimethylbenzene which content were 28.09%, 24.77%,24.42% and 13.17%; PET-02 was composed of phenol and 3-methyl phenol which content were 62.33% and 33.55%; PET-03 was composed of phenol, 3-methyl phenol and 1,3,5- trimethylbenzene which content were 36.46%, 30.10% and 16.29%. PEI-01 was composed of phenol, 1-ethyl-2, 4-dimethyl-benzene and 1-ethyl-3-methylbenzene which content were 22.45%, 23.35% and 11.34%; PEI-02 was composed of 3-methyl phenol, phenol, 1-ethyl-3-methylbenzene and 1,3,5-trimethyl-benzene which content were 57.87%, 8.55% , 8.16% and 8.49%.The liquid solution filtrated after methanol alcoholysis was analyzed by infrared spectroscopy and GC-MS. The result showed that PET-01,PET-02 and PET-03 were polyester enameled wire paints. PET-01 was the polycondensate of terephthalice acid, 1,3-benzenedicarboxylic acid and glycol. PET-02 and PET-03 were composed of terephthalice acid, 1,3-benzenedicarboxylic acid, glycol and trimellitic anhydride. Trimellitic anhydride contained both carboxylic acid anhydride and acid anhydride in its molecular structure, which made polymer excellent solubility, low viscosity and a large number of end-functional groups. PEI-01 and PEI-02 were polyesterimide enameled wire paints composed of glycol, terephthalice acid, trimellitic anhydride and 4,4'-methylenebis-benzena-mine. Aromatic heterocyclic imide makes higher heat resistance and welding of the straight feasible. Distillation residues were analyzed by emission Spectrometry and the result showed that main promoter was tetrabutyl titanate in five samples.Solubility of all kind of solvents to polymers was compared by accounting solubility parameter of molecule chain. The result showed that 3-methyl phenol was the best one; phenol was in the next place. They could form strong polarization and hydrogen bond effect. Aroma hydrocarbon could not make polymers soluble, they were thinners in enameled wire paint.
