With the development of computer technology, embedded system has been become an important composition in computer fields. This thesis builds an platform of integration testing and fault diagnosis system of electric locomotive main transformer using embeded system.In the domain of integration testing and fault diagnosis system of electric locomotive main transformer, The transformer's test of several large factories of electric locomotive in our country still adopt the way of manpower reading, in this way, the work efficiency is very low, and the test result is of error.Accordingly it is necessary to adopt automatic testing system. if adopting industrial control machine as the control center to do the test, the cost is very high. So this thesis adopts embedded system based on ARM to implement this test system. so this system is of low cost, more convenient and more exact.This thesis introduces the development and implement of integration testing and fault diagnosis system of electric locomotive main transformer which is based on ARM microprocessor ST2410 and linux operarion system in detail. It mainly has three parts: one is design and implement of hardware platform; one is design of software platform; one is development of application.This thesis's research is based on ARM-linux platform, It adopts S3C2410 based on ARM920T as its kernel module. Its peripheral equipment contains: SDRAM,FLASH,serial interface,network card,mouse,keyboard,LCD, at the same time, it also provides patulous slots. this platform is mainly oriented electric power and industrial control of high performance, it is also used for research of network; this thesis discusses design mode of embeded software, host - target, building of cross compiler, transplant of linux kernel, device driver, QT graph user interface and main application; in addition, we develop the application on this platform, it mainly contains communications of serial interface and network, and database programming.
