Dezhou Water-saving Society Research

As a result of the economic development, population increase, urban area expansion, water consumption increase, the demand-supply gap of water in Dezhou City is growing and the water environment situation is getting worse. The shortage of water resources has seriously hampered local economic development and social progress. The statistics show that according to the current water supply capacity and water-saving standard, the water shortage volume and rate would be very serious in the year 2010 and 2020. Effective measures should be taken to increase water supply and reduce water demand, otherwise, the water resource will be far from ensuring the need for development. Dezhou City will face a situation of extreme water shortage, which will seriously restrict the sustainable economic and social development. Therefore, to strengthen the management and improve the bearing capacity of water resource, and to construct a water-saving society comprehensively is the fundamental way out in order to achieve sustainable economic and social development in Dezhou..Starting from the basic situation, status quo analysis of water consumption and supply-demand balance, water-saving level and potential analysis, this research focuses on the main issues of constructing a water-saving society such as the index system, water-saving objectives, major tasks and measures. Meanwhile, this research evaluates the investment programs, implementation effects as well.
