| This thesis explores the origin, fundamental opinions of the theory of sustainable development, puts forward some and basic principles and goals of establishing an urban transportation system of sustainable development. Based on the modern theory of managing the transportation demands (TDM), this thesis designs a set of strategies of urban transportation's development of Qingdao, presents some main countermeasures and methods of implementing them. Including an urban transportation policy which gives priority to public transportation, maintaining the government as an investor of urban transportation which plays an important role in the transportation management, setting up an investing and financing system which can support the sustainable development of the city, building a multi-dimensional transportation network based on ocean and land. Meanwhile promoting the level of constructing the infrastructure of urban transportation is also in consideration. By applying the theory of modern public administration and modern technological means, the level of urban transportation management will be improved and hopefully a culture of urban transportation with strong local features will be created. |
