Courtyard Space In The Interpretation Of Modern High-rise Residential Buildings

Courtyard-style house is the Chinese ideal place to live for thousands of years. Courtyard as one of the basic organizational practices of a building space had its unique characteristics and was used in modern architecture after historical evolution for several thousand years. Chinese residential building experienced a centralized large-scale expansion in the last century, and gradually began to return to the table of humanistic concern. In recent years an increasing number of new properties have launched the "high-level courtyard" of the concept, marking the courtyard space return and perform in the modern residential buildings. Interpretation is not simple to use traditional symbols and the structural characteristics of high-rise buildings also do not allow copying the original model compound. So, studying the model of modern high-rise residential compound is a meaningful task.This thesis based on a lot of reading materials and a large number of case studies use the theory and evidence, analysis and synthesis, type and other methods into the traditional residential compound in order to extracte traditional residential courtyard space and summary modern courtyard space.
