The Existing Mode And Development Trend Of "Vertical Courtyard" In High-rise Residence

Courtyard house is the traditional Chinese classical residence form,and is the ideal pattern for traditional Chinese.With the acceleration of urbanization development,under the restriction of resources and environment condition,land resources in particular,cities develop in a high-density direction,their performances on residential buildings are as follows: high-rise buildings becomes the main form of residential buildings.Far from the natural and enclosed living environment,people are increasingly nostalgic for the living patterns of traditional courtyards.Therefore,we need to explore modern courtyard houses which meet the present conditions.But not all of the courtyard forms can well meet people’s demand for nature and communication.Through a clear definition of vertical courtyard,this paper hopes to indicate the life of the courtyard where people truly want to live,so the courtyard house develops in the direction of really helping to improve people’s lives.After clearing the concept of vertical courtyard,the second chapter analyzes the necessity of high-rise vertical courtyard houses and its present situation and development,then the third chapter focuses on analyzing the general characteristics of vertical courtyard space.The fourth chapter takes the form operation,functional unit organization and the traditional way to use the traditional courtyard as the starting point for discussion after introducing the vertical courtyard space theory.Based on the analysis and study of vertical yard cases,some methods and strategies of application in high-rise residential buildings are summarized.Some of these methods and strategies have been applied in the actual projects,while some stay in the envisioning stage,I hope to provide meaningful reference for the future generation of vertical courtyard through practical support and guidance for the ideal.Finally,with the development of contemporary architecture and space as the core clue,the development trend of vertical courtyards is prospected.Among them,the first four chapters constitute its existing pattern and the fifth chapter makes its development trend.This article hopes to show the application of "vertical courtyard" in modern high-rise residences,and share several design methods of vertical courtyard.May it provide basic information for future research.
