The Inheritance And Reconstruction Of Traditional Courtyard Spaces In Modern Residential Architecture

Since the cave,ancient humans have begun to build buildings with courtyard spaces.The introduction of natural courtyard space to the residence not only meets the requirements of human habitation,but also brings a sense of material and spiritual belonging.Today,when domestic residential design is seriously homogenized,how to design a modern residential space that meets the needs of contemporary people in China with the help of traditional courtyard space has become a problem worth studying and solving.This paper attempts to focus on the carrier of courtyard space to explore its spatial reconstruction method in contemporary low-rise houses in China.Based on the above historical background and research status,this paper starts from the development history of traditional architectural courtyards,analyzes the development and changes of courtyards according to historical evolution,and summarizes the four main characteristics of traditional courtyards: practicality and ambiguity,privacy and introversion,adaptability and rich cultural connotation.Then,according to the plane shape system of ancient traditional courtyards,the plane composition of traditional courtyards is summarized,and the relationship between traditional courtyard space and architecture is explored by taking Beijing courtyard,Huizhou ancient residence,Fujian tulou and southern patio-style residence as examples.Secondly,this paper begins with the understanding of the traditional architectural element of the courtyard in the modern residence,and explores the reasons for the emergence of contemporary courtyard houses.The typological method summarizes and summarizes the spatial composition and characteristic analysis of contemporary residential courtyards.According to the location and size classification of the courtyard,the horizontal type and effect of the courtyard space in the contemporary residential building are discussed.Thirdly,according to the comparative analysis of a number of relevant cases collected,three representative examples in terms of regionality,project-leading mode and pioneering nature were selected for background,overall overview and courtyard space analysis,and its technological innovation and inheritance significance were explored.Then,according to the chart collation,illustration and other methods,the contemporary low-rise residential courtyard under the influence of regional culture and natural climate is analyzed and summarized.Combined with the above analysis of the historical evolution of the courtyard,the practical significance of the courtyard space and the analysis of relevant local examples,a series of contemporary courtyard space design methods were summarized and applied to the actual project-Ningguo Fengzhi Taohuayuan,and finally the following conclusions were drawn:1.The timeless courtyard space is worthy of modern residential inheritance and reconstruction.2.The contemporary reconstruction of the courtyard space needs to be combined with China’s national conditions.3.In the design,we should fully consider the regional culture and the spirit of the place.
