The scale of bridge project is becoming bigger, the content of construction technique is becoming more complicated, and the complicacy of construction management is telling its own tale. The plan of construction process is the core technique of construction management. The traditional planning method is inefficient as well as time consuming, and it is not in tune with the level of technological innovations of the 21 century. This paper presents a new methodology of construction schedule analysis for large scale project in which simulation technique, visualization technique, 4D model and evaluation method are utilized altogether. The main contents and achievements of the thesis are summarized as follows:(1)The paper has introduced the concept of 4D information model and has analyzed the signification of dimensional attribute and temporal attribute. On the basis of the above the concept of 4D construction information model was put forward. Combining with character of project construction, the basic character and temporal dimension character of 4D construction information model were analyzed. The composing principia and composing mode of 4D were also analyzed. The paper researches the basis problem of forming process and the pivotal technique of 4D.(2)In view of the three dimensional scene's character reasonable organizing and managing outmode of data was designed. According to the different request of establishing different scenes object, the data was divided into dynamic data and static data, and different organizing and managing mode of data was put forward. It fulfilled the demand of three dimensional scenes which was quickly displayed and dynamically updated.(3)Analyzing the principium method of establishing three dimensional models, the paper compared several main establishing method of three dimensional models, analyzed their advantage and disadvantage. According to the character of project practice, adopting two methods of them, it realized quickly, high-efficiency rendering. By using the technique of geometrical modeling, texture mapping, and lighting, the paper effectively improves the real effects of scenes.(4) Synthetically adopting three dimensional entity's interactive theory and algorithm which including the mechanism of OpenGL's select and feedback and the principium of coordinates reckoning, This has realized the function of the 4D's feedback which include the function of three dimensional entity's identification, query, modification and feedback. In addition, it realized bidirectional link between the three dimensional entity and background database.(5)Applying the above-mentioned method and algorithm "the bridge project construction progress management system" was developed by using OpenGL and Visual C++ 6.0.
