With the rapid development of modern industry traditional industry is gradually moving towards full of intelligence and information, Especially the brick and tile industry, whose level of intelligence are closely related with the social economic benefits and energy-saving or environmental protection. In this paper, it takes the brick and tile production systems of a building materials company in Chongqing Bishan as the background, carrying out research for the production process configuration and evaluation of available buffer capacity of the kiln car. General brick production automation system is to achieve a single-station equipment, however, the overall control system does not achieve full plant automation control, therefore, it causes relatively low productivity, lack of flexible production systems and other issues. In the brick and tile production overall automation system design process, having no relatively mature processing technology for handling random failures restricting the development of automated production systems audience. The main solution to this problem is in place to introduce a reasonable buffer, which would avoid or reduce the production line system partial blockage or interrupt due to the random equipment failure, thereby improving the flexibility of the system and promoting the production efficiency.The paper starts from the process of tile production systems, Analyzed the production process in each station's production tasks, According to the production target each station equipment, it established the regionalization plan divided the whole production system, production characteristics analysis system based on zoning, and led to the setting of the buffer, what's more, it analyzed the factors suitable location and capacity of the buffer which needs to be considered in each area division.In the evaluation process of the brick kiln car production system buffer capacity configuration, the system was classified based on the kiln car buffer kiln car number of states. Combined with the actual production process, the paper analyzed the kiln car buffer kiln car number of state transition relations, and established state transition probability equation that descripts number of buffer state transition rule of kiln cars, Obtained the probability equation based on the system state kiln car buffer capacity, Comprehensively analyzed to determine the appropriate buffer to guarantee there's a minimum probability that the buffer is filled. At last, in the use of WITNESS, modeled and simulated the brick and tile production system which took the code blank machine, kiln car buffer, and drying kiln as the basic, The simulation results showed that the kiln car buffer capacity configuration was reasonable, and the system availability evaluation method was feasible.
