Pneumatic power technology which compressed air as the working medium to pass power and control signals, control and drive a variety of machinery and equipment, in order to achieve the production process mechanization and automation. It is very important discipline of the fluid power transmission and an important branch of automatic control. As the pneumatics which is compressed with air,it works very safety and reliability, it may resist vibration, resist shock, resist radiation, no pollution, simple structure, reliable operation. Pneumatic has been widely used in many industry .just as the machinery industry, metallurgy industry, food industry, aerospace, all sectors of national defense construction and so on.In the air system, cylinder is as the most executive equipment, the reliability of its design is very important to achieve the whole system safe and reliable. In this paper, first, learn and research something about the reliability, finite element, reliability testing, fatigue and other related theories. Second, find some testing methods about the reliability test of the cylinder which has been used in related pneumatic cylinder industry. Third, by the research of the theoretic reliability testing of cylinder, we design and implement a reliability testing system of the cylinder based on SMC's CJ2B10-50 cylinder, including the pneumatic test circuit design, the reality testing control system design, and analyze the cylinder reliability test data. The reliability testing control system is based on STM32F103ZCT6 microcontroller; include a USB interface module design, SD card, the file system. The uninterrupted experiment for up to one year and the testing data obtained indicate that the reliability testing system of cylinder runs stably, collects stores and analyzes data easily. This system satisfies the needs of the reliability testing of cylinder.As the same time as the reliability testing for the cylinder, we also analyzed the cylinder block based on finite element method and analyzed the fatigue life prediction with fatigue simulation in ANSYS software. And at last, we obtain fatigue life prediction of the cylinder, life safety and hazardous location and some other factors. Compare the results to the reliability test data, it demonstrate that the Finite element analysis is also very Significance. Which shows that the cylinder is designed to meet the reliability requirements expected, the finite element method for life prediction of structural components is feasible and necessary. It can also greatly push forward the progress of product development.
