Gerbera Different Developmental Scape Morphological Characteristics And Met Treatment Effect

The Studies both on the Scape Morphological Characteristicsunder Different Development Stages and the Efficiency of PP333 Treatment of Gerbera JamesoniiPostgraduate: Ge Hao Tutor Professor : Qiu Debo (South China University of Tropical Agriculture)Abstract : The developments of the inflorescence of main three gerbera varieties were studied by means of whole morphological observation, histochemistry and biochemistry analysis,and preservation experiment of cut flowers.The inflorescence developmental stages was defined according to the morphological index,the content of dissolvable protein and the vascular structure. The best pick-time of different varieties was determined via the cut flower preservation experiment. The effect and apply concentration of PP333 dripped by root was examined as well.The results are as foliow:(l)The inflorescence development of different varieties of Gerbera can devide into following stages: (D flower budding ,Side-ligulifloret and involucre in the same length, CD ligulifloretextend out of the involucre, @ inflorescence expanding, ?flowering(includes hermaphrodite floret anther concealment, lst-whorl,2nd-whorl and 3rd-whorl hermaphrodite floret anther emergence etc. ),and?senescence. (2)The best pick-time for Red-tube is of 1 st-whorl hermaphrodite anther emergence stage, while for the other two varities of Cora and Delphi is of hermaphrodite anther concealment after the same preservation treatment.At these two stages the cut flowers have better morphological ornamental value,higher content of dissolvable proteins,bigger vascular area,thicker phloem fibre and larger quantitieies of vessels,which arrange neatly,as a result,the functions of transport and mechanical support are in good condition.(3)The PP333 of different cocentration all reveal some effects with different levels to the inflorescence development,the content of dissolvable protein of peduncle,the vascular structure,the determination of best pick-time and the qualities of cut flowers of the varieties treated with PP333. Among them,the treatment concentration of SOppm dripped by root has the best effect.At 50ppm,the best pick-time is of 1st -whorl hermaphrodite floret anther emergence and the morphological feature of the flower is better than those with hermaphrodite anther concealment of the same variety before treatment.
