Effects of conservation methods and time on the nutritive value of straw Abstract The study determined the change condition of major nutrients in sorghum straw-. green corn straw. corn straw-. soybean straw. millet straw-. millet proso. straw and sweet potato vine in different conservation methods(open-air conservation -. shed conservation ... silage and amrnoniation). conservation time(Od.. Sd-. lOd. 15d.. 30d and 60d) and drying methods (oven-drying-. sunshine and shade). In addition to the nutrients analysis of all samples, two steers (450 15kg) fitted with permanent rumen cannulas were used to determine the effects of conversation methods on the rumen degradabilities of DM . OM NDF and ADF of sorghum straw-, corn straw., soybean straw and sweet potato vine. The results show: (1) The content of CP.. OM and WSC in all straw was higher significantly decreasing and that of NDF and ADF was higher significantly increasing with the prolonging of time (Popen-air conservation > ammoniation> silage. The CP content of straw was higher significantly affected by the conservation methods, except millet stover (P shade> sunshine. The different drying methods higher significantly affected the CP content of straw (PO.05), sweet potato vine (PO.05), green corn straw (P
