abstract The regulation of water infiltration in furrow of seed-bed irrigating was studied in this paper. The physical process of soil water infiltration at seed-bed irrigating was explained on the basis of soil water dynamics theory. Based on the unsaturated moisture flow equations, the mathematical model has been established. Finite element method was used to solve the equations, and was programmed on computer by Matlab. To test the reliability of the model and the numerical methods, the results to the one-dimension vertical infiltration under first-kind boundary conditions were computed, and were compared with the theoretical results coming from Philp Method. The numerical simulation results were accordance with the indoor infiltration tests. The numerical model was used to analysis some factors that affected infiltration, including the soil-returning volume, initial soil water content, the width of the furrow. At last some questions about soil-returning volume were discussed. |
