Muddy water irrigation, is our country's oldest agricultural muddy irrigation technology. It is carried out extensively in the northern arid and semi-arid areas where water and soil has lost a lot. By muddy irrigation and comprehensive utilization of water, soil and fertilizer, product increases very obviously, effectively promote the development of agricultural production, making this technology welcomed by the masses. After New China was founded, Muddy water irrigation, in theory and practice has achieved a great development and improvement. With the necessity of construction, this work should be taken seriously in water and soil conservation work. First of all, it is closely related to the improvement of the ecological environment and comprehensive management of watersheds in soil erosion areas, it is an important means of land improvement. Secondly, it will expand the water source, then ease the summer drought and water shortage resulting from the "extremely drought," and the soil can be improved through creating farmland on a large scale, thus expanding the area of basic farmland. Thirdly, it can block and use substantial lost soil and water, also reduce the river flood peak and sediment concentration, thereby reducing river siltation, in order to cure the Yellow River, Haihe River and other sand rivers.Through the study of Muddy water irrigation, in Luohui Irrigation Area and Zhaolaoyu District, the thesis analyzed the types, economic benefits and social benefits of the Muddy water irrigation, summarized the respective characters and the achievements that Luohui Irrigation Area gained in improving the sediment concentration and utilizing cleaning-mud balance principles to realize transportation distantly. The author analyzed the common problems existing at present according to the two places' experience, asserted some measures for reference and prospected the foreground of this technology.The thesis can be divided into two parts. The first is the preface and the second is the main part. Conclusions are the following in the paper:1. Muddy water irrigation is an effective measure by comprehensively using water and sediment resources. The use of the technology and promotion is necessary and promising.2.The characteristics must be mastered as well as using of resources of water and sediment. Doing like this to achieve the original intention, otherwise it is just the opposite.The management is very important during the course of specific operations. The whole co-ordination arrangements should be well done, or come to naught.3.Warping soil sediment concentration the better the general requirements, but in order to ensure the formation of sediment loading, the general use of door more than diversion, construction of diversion facilities, low water to high water vent, after first moving static cited silt, Finally, sedimentation flow backward through this repeatedly, to meet the purpose .
