Tobacco is a good crop with quality and quantity to the same paramount importance. The quality of tobacco is influenced by many factors such as climate, soil, species, fertilizer and baking technology. Among all these factors, fertilization is the fundamentally decisive one to the production and output value of tobacco. Meanwhile, fertilization is the most variable factor, while soil and fertilization always exert substantial influence on the substantiality of the tobacco production. Therefore, under a certain environment and species condition, baking is one of the key reasons for high tobacco production.At present, the tobacco quality in China is far behind that in America and in Zimbabwe, with the soil nutrient imbalance being one of the most limiting reasons. The fertilizing technology based on GIS is the key to this problem. Based on GIS technology, this paper investigates the construction of ecological database in the tobacco-growing areas, tobacco fertilization modeling, the construction of brain base concerning fertilization, neural network modeling fertilizer, and tobacco fertilization decision-making, designing and applying. The tasks completed mainly include the following aspects:First, climate, landform and soil in Jiaxian county have been analysed. Suitability of ecological conditions is evaluated.Second, design and build the ecological environment database of tabacco production area.Third, based on the Mapobject platform, build the tobacco fertilization decision-making support system by integrating and coupling the ecological environment database of tabacco production area, tobacco fertilization model database and tobacco fertilization expert knowledge base, and put the system into application and examination. Fifth, Through surveys, it is proved that the expert system of tobacco fertilization is able to direct tobacco fertilizer in county.
