Objective:It has been demonstrated that the inflammation and oxidative stress promote the occurrence and development of atrial fibrillation(AF), but the effect of oxidative stress factors such as Trx,SOD is not clear. This study evaluated the clinical applicability of high sensitivity-C reactive protein(hs-CRP), thioredoxin(Trx), superoxide dismutase(SOD) in patients with AF, and further analysed the clinical significance of inflammation and oxidative stress in the occurrence and development of AF.Methods:58 cases were divided into 3 groups as 19 persistant AF,18 paroxysmal AF, and 21 healthy volunteers. The serum levels of hs-CRP, Trx and SOD were detected with enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA), and the left atrium diameter(LAD) was measured by echocardiogram.Results:①The general information of the patients showed no marked difference;②The levels of hs-CRP, Trx and LAD in patients with persistant AF and paroxysmal AF were significantly higher than those in the control group (P<0.01). And the above levels in persistant AF were higher than those in paroxysmal AF (P<0.05);③The SOD levels in patients with persistant AF and paroxysmal AF were significantly lower than those in the control group (P<0.01), while the levels of persistant AF were lower than paroxysmal AF (P<0.05);④LAD has positive correlation with hs-CRP (r=0.694, P< 0.01) and Trx (r= 0.669, P<0.01), and has negative correlation with SOD(r=-0.789, P< 0.01).Conclusion:The inflammation and oxidative stress might participate in the structural or electrical remodeling of the left atrium, and further promote the occurrence and development of AF. The intervention of the inflammation and oxidative stress such as Trx and SOD might provide a new clue in AF therapy.
