Objective:To discuss the functional value of MCP-1 to detect the obstructive hydronephrosis .Methods:Renal ultrasonography was performed in 32 patients and they were classified according to the degree of hydronephrosis .Urine MCP-1 concentration of hydronephrotic kidneys was detected by Enzyme-linked immuno-sorbent assy(ELISA) and Spearman's correlation test was used to compare grades of hydronephrotic kidneys .Results:Three different grades was classified according to the results of ultrasonography: 4 patients of high-grade hydronephrosis , 16 patients of mid-grade hydronephrosis and 12 patients of low-grade hydronephrosis. There is significant difference between grades and MCP-1 urine concentration of hydronephrotic kidneys. Spearman's correlation test was used to compare MCP-1 urine concentration and grades, and MCP-1 was positive correlated closely with grades and there was significantly difference(P<0.001).Conclusion: MCP-1 urine concentration of hydronephrotic kidneys may evaluate damage degree of renal function.
