As an important part of Song Dynasty'culture, Painting is undoubtedly a peak of ancient Chinese art history. Standing the important stage of the transition from Tang Dynasty to Ming and Qing Dynasty, the transition from the Middle Ages to the Late Antiquity, it had its own characteristics of content, form and style. As the history of ancient Chinese art education system, it reflected the mixture and transformation of Northern Song Dynasty.Painting has always been considered as part of this system. It has usually been understood outside the mainstream, which is negative . Emperor hui in song was deeply influenced by paintings since the Tang Dynasty, he also gave great attention on paintings personally . Because Painting philosophy was included into the examination system, many outstanding artists from the private sector had been selected. Painting philosophy, including a lot of work with folk-style, could be spread and developed. At the same time, because of the training of poetry and literature , students could explore the painting's new position, making landscapes, flowers growing prosperity. Painting philosophy is an open system, combining art with truth, which is a great success of combination between concepts of scholars'painting and academy painting. This paper discusses the influence of painting philosophy on Song Dynastys painting in the light of aesthetics as a whole trend of social and cultural psychology, literary character , from the perspective of social culture, the feeling of the northern song dynasty,the ideas of painting and the painting education, cultural connotations, tracing its causes, understanding the unique culture of the Northern Song ,finding its profound political, economic and cultural causes of Song Dynasty.
