The Correlation Research Of Mate Choice Anxiety, General Self-efficacy And Self-identity Status Of Graduate Students In Fuzhou

This study focused on the situation of graduate students'mate choice and tried to find out the relationship among mate choice anxiety, general self-efficacy and self-identity status, especially the influence of the latter two factors on the former one.We were expected to initiate the research of mate choice anxiety, and provide the theoretical and practical bases for college counseling for graduate students'mate choice, then provided some advices for graduate students.In the study, we developed the questionnaire named Mate Choice Anxiety Questionnaire for Graduate Students. The questionnaire had seven factors including:lack of self-confidence in internal factors, lack of self-confidence in selection ability, lack of self-confidence in external factors, worry about the results, worry about obstacles, worry about love, fear pressure. The questionnaire was proved to have good reliability and validity and could be used to measure graduate students.The results showed that the total level of mate choice anxiety of graduate students is not very high, and the main concern is worries about the result, worries about the obstacles, worries about love and lack of self-confidence to selection ability. The students with different demographic characteristics have difference in mate choice anxiety and its dimensions. Self-efficacy can affect mate choice anxiety, and it was negatively related to mate choice anxiety. Self-identity status can affect mate choice anxiety, and present input and will of future input were negatively related to the mate choice anxiety. Present input and self-efficacy can predict the mate choice anxiety.
